I was like that to my cat, and that did happen to me and with me, and to her, I should have died after her, for all of it.
Check the height the texture and the cleanness of the litter, make sure the litter is clump and poop free, make sure the litter is soft for your cat's paws, and that it's like an inch or two high, just covering the bottom, make sure your cat has room to move around and be able to get out when he/she needs to, and please don't have a lid on the box, because cats don't need privacy, that's just for us humans, and also put the litter box in a social area, like where your cat feels comfortable.
The hell with disciplining your cat or telling them off, cats should be doing all of that to people!
I just say "Come on kitty kitty! You know you're not supposed to be on the kitchen counter" in a stern tone.
When I bought my kitten she was in a fearful status her health was bad now as she is growing into a teen cat she still has that fear in her. I think I can't get that out of her. I bought her from Chinese owners and when I got her she had teeth marks on her head from a dog I suppose she wasn't living safe with her previous owners, is there any way I could get the fear out of her, all the kittens I had in the past were calm.
My cat is naughty sometimes in my room but when she can't stand still, then I say to her, ok your going outside…but she likes it outside more, so now she is disobedient sometimes because she I give her way. Otherwise she a good kitty. She lets go of biting when I say, No biting…she understands and starts licking me to say sorry.
Great information! Thank you for making this excellent video!
Whatever my cat does is fine with me. I refuse to tell her off!
Patience owners. We need to keep this in mind. Our fur animals need to learn, slowly and respectfully. Thanks for a good review!
All you need
Is a water bottle squirting with water that teaches them right from wrong.
Just get a water bottle put water in it and just start spraying with water it should be out and eventually your cat will stop doing the bad and more good.
If you have seen a mother look after her kittens, she taps them on the head with a meow or growl if misbehaving. I've just tapped them on their heads gently with my finger and a firm "No". Never had to do it more than twice in their lives. A close finger wag and a "No" have always sufficed thereafter, they have good memories.
Aggressive biting? Flick in the nose
My elderly cat has dementia. She still understands the word "No" but forgets she's been told it. Minutes later she tries again.
Another word we find useful is "out". We often need them to vacate a bathroom or a room when we close up for the night. We have found that they have learned to spell that one. "O.U.T" spoken firmly if they don't comply results in an immediate response.
I like how you told about the facial differences about the make and female. I never knew that.
Just a slap will do ….
My cat never behaves bad…..she just do "cat stuff"!
My cat responds very well to gentle diversion when she's doing something "bad." It's rare that I have to say "No!" and when I do, she skedaddles. Most of the time, she's just being a cat.
You don't discipline a cat. You set up an environment that won't allow them to get into trouble.
You guys have such awesome videos, but please change the person doing the narration! Or give him speech classes. I feel like a robot is reading to me with how the vocal inflections show up in the wrong place, and there are pauses and breaks in totally incorrect areas of sentences. I do love your channel! You just need someone else to be your voice.
Simson bits me all the time but you know I really think that he is kissing me they have no laps so the closest thing is their teeth he just holds on alike longer is all you know he knows that he has teeth but don't bite into my skin and with he does I know so I Yell his Nane very Lond and He Runs off to one of his three hiding places in the apartment CAT is Herd Headed Too Make me Call his Name and Don't come out pees me off the most SAMSON I Know You Hear ME bullheaded thing you are but i Still Love you my First Fur Baby
LOOK CAT the things you knock off things is not going to get up and run from you so why do you look at it for so long so on the floor so you can pounce on it to kill if it gets up and runs
Mine knows the look. They the get the idea now.
When my cat jumped on the kitchen table I picked him up and snuggled him. The smell of my face was obnoxious to him so he stopped jumping on the table.
Dispense the poisonous plants!
My cats know they are in trouble by the tone of my voice. When I speak to them gently they know it is okay to approach me. When the do wrong and I say their name harshly, the one being called automatically goes to their own spot and puts their nose to the wall. My male cat, when he is done misbehaving, he says grandma (that is what he calls me). My daughter's cat says lots of words. Our female cat is my husband's cat. Our two are sister and brother. I think it is cute when they put their noses to the wall. They do it because the little girl I used to watch got a chair facing the wall ti.e out. Cats learn by visual too.
I feel like Vets are more about the money than caring about the animals. I've called for an appt. for serious things, and they say "we're booked up for three months, but for an extra $100 you can bring them in for an emergency appt." Also trying to force vaccines or they won't treat your pet.
My cat understoods No,and her kittens!
My cats understand Good, No, Gentle and Naughty.
I find that scolding works best if you imitate certain cat sounds. For instance, the "no" command should be low and drawn out, a bit like a cat growling. You can even sprinkle in a few of your own growls to drive the point home. Or when you've been bitten or scratched, screech instead of saying "ow." If they draw blood, let them smell it, so they're aware of the injury. Time-outs work well when play aggression gets too heated. I use a cat carrier with a pillow inside. Ten minutes in there, and they usually calm down.
My cat has been declawed(not by me) He pulls his hair out by clumps. Can I stop this behavior?
My cats know better! I've trained every cat I've owed, including feral cats. Cats can be trained as well as dogs can be trained. People just let cats do whatever the hell they want to do. My cats mind and they damn well know when they've done something that they shouldn't have done.
Cats don't scratch on things for 'attention'. It is a hard wired behavior. They aren't children acting bad. People need to stop anthropomorphizing them and deal with them on their 'level'. Understand they are cats, not humans, and you will enjoy your companionship more.
Glad to see your videos pop up on my algorithms again. I thought you stopped making videos on here!!!!
Not even close. He takes too long to get to the gist.
My extremely affectionate and playful, larger than average adult cat occasionally play-bites my arm. I just say, "Ouch! She remembers for at least a few days. 😻
